The free FBC bike tune ups are taking place right now. We are at the Hillcrest Latino Market off Hillcrest Drive.
Our five year anniversary just past and to commemorator the event we filled our glasses and said Salute! If you would care to join in our toast, stop by the shop sometime before Christmas and wish us a happy birthday.
Bikerumor made our boy famous!
The Bicycle Escape, in conjunction with M.O.R.E., is hosting night mountain bike rides at Gambrill State Park on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month through the end of April.
This was a fun project. The old Schwinn American Deluxe was rustier than an old grill. Our orders were to restore it without doing any re-chroming or paint work. We were quite pleased with the results.
We just got in newly designed TBE socks. This time we had them made by Swiftwick, makers of the best socks on the Planet!
It was great fun to help out with the very first Tour de Frederick. We had fun meeting the many cyclists at our water stop.
Have you seen the cool bike taxis rolling around downtown Frederick lately? They are so cool. Geo and I took our first ride in one last week and it was fun!
A big congratulations to Tonya! She is the proud winner of the Breezer Greenway we donated to promote Bike to Work Day at the Frederick Pit Stop.
In an out of character move Tom did not show up to work today. I know what you are thinking: Reno 911 Marathon… nope. This absence is due to the newest TBE addition: Geoffrey Galen Rinker, 8lbs 11oz. Welcome son!
We just built this beautiful Independent Fabrication Factory Light Weight for Alan. I love the sky like fade complete with the moon and stars. Check out our photo album for more pictures.
I recently had the absolute pleasure of building the pictured YiPsan all-road bike for Catherine. The frame is hand crafted in the lugged tradition. I refer to this bike as an “all-road” bike because it is designed to accept wider cyclocross tires, but has road bike geometry.
With Big Bear just days away, many of you have come to the same conclusion: 1) It is a wonderful time to break the frame you planned on racing and/or 2) it is a wonderful time to replace your old frame/bike.
Here are two fun builds we just completed. The very first Independent Fabrication to sport the damn cool HammerSchmidt two speed crank and a well set-up IF Independence.
The Kids Triathlon was a huge success. Thanks to all the volunteers and participants.
